Never in their history had the Chicago Cubs clinched a postseason series on their home field. That may not be all that surprising, since the history of the Cubs is a tortured one.

Sometimes history changes, though, and you get to celebrate in a huge way. That’s what happened to the Cubs on Tuesday night, when they beat the St. Louis Cardinals to advance to the NLCS. Their first NLCS since 2003, in fact. There was indeed a lot to celebrate.
So here are some of our favorite photos of the Cubs and their fans’ celebration. It was well earned. Now just imagine what’s going to happen if they make the World Series.
