Julian Edelman is a squirrel who loves Tom Brady, rocky road and his crow of a coach
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman carved time out of his team’s preparation for the Indianapolis Colts to participate in an “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit, and what resulted was a story of a squirrel, his pet turtle Herb and a crow eating rocky road ice cream and hummus with handsome men.
You know, the usual stuff.

Edelman did answer a pair of questions sincerely, describing Tom Brady, Wes Welker and Tedy Bruschi as those primarily responsible for imparting “The Patriot Way” to him. “You learn from the system,” he said. The Super Bowl hero also listed his top five receivers as Odell Beckham Jr., Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas, Jordy Nelson and Steve Smith, in no particular order. (Sorry, Antonio Brown and Dez Bryant.)
That was merely the appetizer for an entree that was good times all around with Edelman. Here are 10 highlights from an AMA worth your time. (Cue emails on how all things Pats and fun is a waste of time.)
10. Edelman loves burgers, which makes sense, since he’s the host of “Burgertyme.” Brady loves hummus, which makes sense, since he’s most definitely not a fan of Coca-Cola and Frosted Flakes.
And here’s that GIF for those of you wondering:
9. None of this “Phineas and Ferb” garbage. Edelman likes his cartoons from the ’90s.
8. Julian’s motto, apparently: Everthing must be a little nutty.
7. Everybody probably thinks it’s easy to play for the Patriots. It’s not.
6. Technically, he doesn’t answer the next question.
5. Edelman would named his pet turtle after Brady’s favorite food.
4. Folks outside of New England probably have a few other ideas for Bill Belichick’s spirit animal.
3. Edelman is not in danger. Edelman is the danger. He is the one who squirrels.
2. #noonelikesahuddlefarter
1. Edelman’s love for Brady knows no bounds.
Should’ve known.
