Betting Odds
Point Spread: Bengals -2.5
Total Line: 44.5
The Bengals’ unbeaten record looked to be in serious jeopardy last week when they faced off against the Seattle Seahawks. A strong defensive line up from the Hawks meant that Cincinnati were down 17 points in the fourth quarter. However, quarterback Andy Dalton wasn’t about to let the Bengals suffer that way, throwing for 331 yards and scoring three touchdowns altogether, to bring the team back up and secure them their fifth consecutive win, with a 27-24 finish in overtime. However, Dalton is going to have to compose himself somewhat, considering he was sacked four times and threw his second interception of the season during the game.
Cincinnati have played a great offensive game this season so far, managing to claim 29.6 points on average per game, and giving them a current ranking of fourth. They’ve also gained 421.4 yards on average per game, positioning them in second. The Bengals’ defence needs a little bit of work, as they’re currently 21st, thanks to giving up 371.2 yards to opponents. Vincent Ray has completed 28 total tackles and assisted with 21, while Adam Jones has forced a fumble and completed a single sack.
The Bills are a little bit up and down in the AFC East division, having gained three wins and two losses. However, the team’s offence is degrading as the weeks pass by. Running backs Karlos Williams and LeSean McCoy are both out on injury, while wide receiver Sammy Watkins is also in the same boat. Such issues meant that quarterback, Tyrod Taylor had to carry the team through the entire game last week against the Tennessee Titans. And while this did seem a little difficult to do, Taylor claimed 185 of the Bills’ total 270 yards gained offensively to lead Buffalo to a 14-13 win.
Taylor has played a good game throughout the season so far, having completed 96 of his 137 attempted passes for 1097 yards this season. Anthony Dixon has been trying to make up the rushing ranks, carrying 15 for 19 yards and claiming a touchdown in the process. Defensively, Corey Graham and Nigel Bradham have both recorded a sack each, while claiming a combined total of 79 tackles. Having allowed an average of 356.2 yards per game this season, the Bills’ defence is currently ranked 16th, while offensively, the team scores an average of 24.8 points per game, positioning them in ninth overall.

Tyrod Taylor is expected to miss the Week 6 game and it may be a drop down to back up EJ Manual. He did play well enough in the preseason and practice for the Bills to trade away at the time backup matt Cassel, so the drop off may be minimal. Buffalo will also likely get back their top receiver in Sammy Watkins and their back-up RB Karlos Williams who is the No. 1 until Le Sean McCoy returns. The key to this game may very well be K. Williams or whomever gets the carries. The Bengals allowed 200 yards on the ground last week to the Seahawks as teams are starting to figure out the Cincy D. The week before the Bengals allowed vertically challenged KC to throw for 348 yards. We’re getting a home dog with a winning record plus more than a field goal.
