Chase Utley issues statement about suspension, wants to focus on Game 3
The most talked-about man in baseball at the moment issued a statement Monday before his Los Angeles Dodgers take on the New York Mets in Game 3 of the NLDS.
Chase Utley put out a two-sentence statement about his two-game suspension and pending appeal. It doesn’t give us a ton of new information, other than it’s coming from him and not “reports.”

Here’s Utley’s statement:
“The Players Association and my agent are handling the appeals process. I have nothing more to say other than to reiterate that I feel terrible about Ruben’s injury. Now my teammates and I are focused on Game 3 and doing everything we can to win this series.”
We know that Ultey’s appeal won’t be heard Monday and is unlikely to be heard before Game 4 on Tuesday, which means he’ll be available to play both games in NYC. If the Dodgers use Utley, the response from Mets fans should be something to behold.
