George H. W. Bush and Clay Walker provide memorable pregame at ALDS
Former President Geroge H. W. Bush threw out the first pitch from his wheelchair positioned a short distance from home plate Sunday before Game 3 of the ALDS in Houston between the Astros and Kansas City Royals.
Bush fractured vertebrae in his neck during a fall in June and has been recovering since. The fact that Bush, 91, was far from full-strength but still managed to make it to the park to watch his beloved Astros, much less throw out the first pitch, made the moment even more special.

Bush threw the pitch left-handed to Jed Lowrie, who served as the honorary catcher and gave the former president a hug after catching it.
Bush wasn’t the only hometown hero who participated in pregame festivities. Country music star Clay Walker sang the national anthem and cut the final note short in order to yell, ‘Go Astros.’
