Scoring a touchdown is any lineman’s dream, so Marshall’s Jarquez Samuel made sure he got his money’s worth against Southern Mississippi on Friday night.
When Gary Thompson came off the edge to sack Southern Miss quarterback Nick Mullens near the goal line, the ball popped into the air and right into the arms of Samuel. The 6-foot-4, 287-pound Samuel didn’t have far to go, so he executed a flawless swan dive into the end zone for a Thundering Herd touchdown.
That’s just the epitome of grace right there. Simply beautiful.
Samuel’s touchdown put the bow on a great defensive effort from the Thundering Herd, who went on to win 31-10 to improve to 5-1. Southern Miss dropped to 3-3 with the loss.
