Report says Andrew Luck will not start for the Colts on Thursday night
The Indianapolis Colts will reportedly be without Andrew Luck for a second straight week. He has been ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans, ESPN reported on Thursday morning.
The reports on Luck’s shoulder have gotten less optimistic as the week has gone on. Then the team re-signed quarterback Josh Johnson on Wednesday. Matt Hasselbeck has an illness that left him as questionable on the injury report, complicating matters. Schefter reported Thursday morning that the Colts are undecided on their quarterback against the Houston Texans, and it “would not be a surprise” if it’s Hasselbeck. Then he later reported Luck will definitely be out.
Prepare your fantasy lineups accordingly.
The Colts season has been mostly a mess. Two ugly losses were followed by a frenetic comeback win in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans. Then Luck didn’t play last week and the offense looked terrible against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fortunately for the Colts, Jacksonville’s offense was terrible as well and the Jaguars’ field-goal kicker blew a couple chances for the win.
Luck will now get an extended rest before Indianapolis’ next game. The Colts have nine games between games, and their next game is a a showdown against the New England Patriots at home.
Without Luck, the Colts will have a tough time winning at Houston. The scope of a nationally-televised Thursday night game has changed plenty after the news that Luck will be out again.
