Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans Point Spread Pick and Betting Odds. In this fifth week NFL 2015 regular season match, the 1-3 Houston Texans will play host to the 2-2 Indianapolis Colts at the NRG Stadium in Texas. The game is set to kick-off on Thursday, October 8th at 20:25 ET.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Colts -1.5
Total Line: 45
The Colts have managed to bring themselves up to a 2-2 standing over the past two weeks, beating Tennessee in week three and Jacksonville last week, with a game that finished in a 13-16 score. Andrew Luck was forced to miss the first ever game of his NFL career, thanks to an issue with his shoulder, which saw Matt Hasselbeck step up to the plate and take over as starting quarterback. And step up he did, recording 282 passing yards and a touchdown. The game would go into overtime, where kicker, Adam Vinatieri would score the field goal that would lead the team to victory.
Despite Luck being out for the moment, Hasselbeck has stood in his shoes on a successful basis so far, completing 30 of his attempted 47 passes, all of which came in the game against Jacksonville. Frank Gore has taken his running game into the spotlight, carrying 54 for 227 yards and two touchdowns, while 23 receptions from Donte Moncrief have secured the wide receiver 275 yards and three touchdowns. In defence, D’Qwell Jackson has credited 47 combined tackles to his record, with a single forced fumble.
The Texans aren’t faring quite as well as the Colts, having lost three of their four 2015 regular season games so far, the latest of which came at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons, who punished Houston into a 21-48 loss. DeAndre Hopkins would be named the top receiver of the match, claiming 157 yards in the process. However, the humiliation of Houston was set in place right from the get go, and the Falcons were up 42-0 by the end of the third quarter. Starting quarterback, Ryan Mallett would be benched for Brian Hoyer, who came in and went 17-of-30 for 232 yards and two touchdowns to help secure 21 points for the team.
While Houston have managed to rack up a seventh place for the average of 384.2 yards gained during this season, the points they’ve managed to score alongside have averaged 19.2, securing them a ranking of just 24th. The team’s defence have allowed an average of 27 points to be scored, although have only given up 344 yards in the process, which does give them an 11th place ranking. However, they need to make both sides work in cohesion if they are to win their next game against Indianapolis.

With Andrew Luck now reported out, we’ll side with the Texans in a must win game for then home side. RB Arian Foster should be much improved this week and the line is low enough to justify a play on the home side who should be able to run on the Colts.
