Seattle have managed to redeem themselves after their first two weeks of losses to the St Louis Rams and the Green Bay Packers. Last week saw them claim their second victory of the 2015 regular season, beating out the Detroit Lions in a game that finished with a 10-13 score. It took a clutch forced fumble from Kam Chancellor on Calvin Johnson for the Seahawks to do it, but win the game they did. Seattle still needs to bring their offensive unit in to work as a strong, cohesive group though. It’s struggled all season to gain any kind of stellar ground, and they were just as lost on the field against Detroit. Quarterback, Russell Wilson ended up being the victim of six sacks.
The hopeful return of running back, Marshawn Lynch should provide some sort of boost to the Seahawks, as the Bengals’ defensive unit is allowing an average of just 85.3 yards per game this season. If Lynch and co. aren’t able to mount a thoroughly united front, it could signal a fall for Seattle. Offensively, the Seahawks have claimed an average of 345.8 yards, giving them a mid-level ranking of 19th overall. Meanwhile, they’ve only allowed an average of 17.8 points to be scored against them (ranking them third overall) and 278.8 yards altogether on average to be claimed per game (giving them a second position), showing that there’s little to fault with the defensive side of things.
Cincinnati are one of the six teams to have won all the games they’ve played so far this season. Last week’s battle brought them up against the Kansas City Chiefs, and the result came out as a 21-36 victory for the Bengals. The team have played consistently great games, with quarterback, Andy Dalton continuing to shine throughout their match against the Chiefs. Dalton has also been sacked just twice this season, a record that ties him with Ryan Fitzpatrick of the New York Jets. Cincinnati managed to hold off Kansas City’s offence to zero touchdowns, with Alex Smith being sacked seven times by the Bengals’ offensive unit.
There is a slight threat of the returning Marshawn Lynch for Seattle, although the Bengals have played exceptionally well in defence this year. They’ve only allowed an average of 19.2 points to be scored by opposing teams, giving them a ninth place ranking, while racking up an average of 30.2 points themselves have positioned them in fourth overall. Claiming 422 yards on average per game safely place’s them in second position overall, and if Cincinnati continue playing as well as they have so far, the Seahawks should prove to be little hindrance to them.

The Seahawks are hoping to have running back Marshawn Lynch back for this game, but will it matter? The Seahawks offense has been putrid especially their pass offense that ranks 27th in the league. They can get some yards on the ground, but they’ll be facing one of the better units in the league this week. We just don’t like the matchups here and square or not, we’ll go with the home side here in this spot.
