The Blue Jays celebrate winning the AL East division title, their first since 1993.

Ten teams remain, but only one will go home with a World Series title.

Will this be the year the Chicago Cubs break the curse and win its first title since 1908 or will the odds-on-favorite Toronto Blue Jays take the crown?

USA TODAY Sports’ baseball staff offers our predictions on who we thought would win in each round of the playoffs before the wild card games started.

The consensus among the voters has the Blue Jays winning its first championship since 1993, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Key to winning: The homer-happy Astros push KC to the limit, but the better team prevails , led as its dominant bullpen holds Houston down in the late innings. Star of the series: Hosmer.

NL Division Series: Dodgers in 5

AL Championship Series: Blue Jays in 6
Key to winning: The Royals may have a vaunted bullpen, but the Blue Jays pummel their starters, forcing the Royals’ relievers into the game much earlier than they wanted. Star of the series: Price

NL Championship Series: Pirates in 6
Key to winning: The Pirates take advantage of the Dodgers’ depleted starting rotation depth after Kershaw and Greinke make their starts. Star of the series: Cole.

World Series: Pirates in 7
Key to winning: The athleticism proves to be too much for the Blue Jays to handle, aggressively running the bases, and stealing bases at a breathless rate. Star of the series: Andrew McCutchen.
