Five-star forward Miles Bridges picks Michigan State over Kentucky – CBSSports.com
Tom Izzo’s monster 2016 recruiting class just ensured itself a top-five ranking regardless of what happens for the rest of the recruiting season.
Miles Bridges, a five-star small forward from Flint, Mich., verbally committed to Michigan State on Saturday. He joins fellow five-star Joshua Langford (combo guard), four-star Cassius Winston (point guard) and four-star Nick Ward (power forward) to comprise the Spartans’ freshman class a year from now.
In a press conference at his school, Bridges told reporters that he new he was going to commit to the Spartans “about a week ago” but thanked all the coaches for their time during the process.
In Bridges, Izzo gets an amazing athlete, a lefty who has a well-rounded game of savvy, power, good ball skills and incredible hops.
How strong, how athletic?
Bridges’ choice came down to Michigan State vs. Kentucky. He opts to stay close to home and help Izzo construct one of the best recruiting classes in Spartans history. In fact, Tom Izzo had never landed more than two consensus top 50 prospects in the same class. With the addition of Miles Briges, Izzo has four such players in MSU’s 2016 class.
Bridges, who will play out his senior year of high school at West Virginia’s Huntington Prep, should be an immediate impact player for MSU a year from now. He’s adept on the glass and a true combo forward.
