Betting Odds
Point Spread: Rams +6.5/Cardinals -6.5
Total Line: 42.5
The Rams suffered their second loss of the 2015 regular season last week when they fell at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a match that finished with a 12-6 outcome. Their last two defeats have seen them only claim a total of 16 points. However, despite this, the Rams have played a good game. Their defensive line has performed to the best of their abilities, managing to garner five sacks and limiting the Pittsburgh running back, Le’Veon Bell to just 63 yards on 19 carries. Quarterback, Nick Foles put in a courageous effort, completing 19 of his 28 attempted passes, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Steelers.
The Rams’ 2015 stats don’t really compare so well with other teams competing for the overall victory, with Benny Cunningham carrying 18 for 57 yards and Tre Mason carrying 16 for 42 yards. Offensively, they’re ranked in just 28th position. The aforementioned Foles has probably performed the best for St.Louis, completing 54 of his 87 attempted passes and scoring two touchdowns as well.. He’s only thrown a single interception, but has been sacked five times, losing 35 yards in the process.
On the other side of the coin, Arizona have been playing some stellar games of football this season, currently recording a 3-0 standing. They’re the only team to have won all their games so far in the NFC West division, which was brought up to that level after their 47-7 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The Cardinals’ defence held firm, preventing San Fran’s Kaepernick from being able to lock into any kind of strategic offence. Arizona’s stellar quarterback, Carson Palmer completed 20 of his 32 throws during the game, gathering 311 yards at the same time, as well as two touchdowns.
The Cardinals will be looking to maintain their momentum in their upcoming game against the Rams, and they’re currently averaging the league-high of 42 points per match. Palmer will have much attention focused on him again, as he’s completed 63.6% of passes in the 2015 regular season. He’s also carried six for 13 yards, while Chris Johnson has carried 52 for 219 yards and two touchdowns. As mentioned, Arizona’s strong defence has been thoroughly in action, with Larry Fitzgerald on the receiving end of 23 passes for 333 yards so far, and five touchdowns claimed in the process.

The offense of the Cardinals has been scary good this season although they have yet to face an elite secondary. That won’t happen again this week, but what they do face is the league leading team in sacks this season with 13. That will be the biggest battle and should decide this game. We don’t think that the Rams will win that battle and if they don’t look for this game to match the last two in Arizona that the Cards won 31-14 in 2014 and 30-10 in 2013.
