Point Spread: Crimson Tide +2.5/Bulldogs -2.5
Total Line: 53.5
The Crimson Tide found their footing again last week, defeating Louisiana Monroe’s Warhawks in a 34-0 victory. Alabama’s defensive line proved to be ultimately too strong for the Warhawks, while equally ferocious offence from Jake Coker and co. boosted the Crimson Tide through the second half of the game. Coker was able to throw three touchdown passes in the game, while the defensive line up allowed just 92 yards to be gained by Louisiana Monroe. However, there’s little doubt that Georgia will prove to be a much bigger challenge.
Alabama have gained 1030 yards altogether from 98 completed passes, 68 from the aforementioned Coker and 30 from Cooper Bateman. Derrick Henry has carried 67 for 422 yards and eight touchdowns, while Kenyan Drake has carried 37 for 215 yards and a single touchdown. O.J. Howard has received 13 passes for 183 yards, while ArDarius Stewart has claimed 21 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Adam Griffith has earned 18 extra points for the Crimson Tide, while making three field goals of seven attempted.
Georgia have also been on a roll this season, claiming a 48-6 victory over the Southern Jaguars last week to make them 4-0 so far. Running back, Nick Chubb ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns during the match, whilst also catching a touchdown pass. He had scoring runs of nine and 49 yards in the third quarter, with the latter giving him 12 straight games with at least 100 rushing yards. Georgia only let up a little during the second quarter, which saw the Jaguars score their only six points of the game on a field goal.
Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey have performed exceptionally well with their passes this season, both having a completion percentage of 75% and above. According to official statistics, Lambert has completed 52 of his 68 attempts, while Ramsey has successfully thrown 15 of his 20. Malcolm Mitchell has been on the receiving end of 20 for 306 yards, with 33 long and three touchdowns included. Sony Michel has also managed to claim three touchdowns, while Jeb Blazevich has added an extra one to Chubbs touchdown to make eight altogether in receiving stats.

The opener for Alabama was strong, but they had an edge in that spot and haven’t played especially well since. The Mississippi game may be the best indicator on where to rank this team this season. They did finish -5 in the turnover department, but the pass defense was exploited for 433 yards! Georgia hasn’t faced much, but when they did they completely demolished the Gamecocks 52-20. Even though it’s a down year for South Carolina that is still impressive.
