Congrats, Padre: A baby was delivered at Petco Park
Every baseball parent has debated when to take their child to his or her first game. While we would normally advocate for as early as possible, these San Diego Padres’ fans may have taken things a little too far Thursday.
Yes, you’re reading that right. A child was delivered at Petco Park on Thursday. Someone actually became a padre at the Padres’ game.
It hasn’t been a particularly successful season for the club, so this may end up being one of the highlights. While they won’t clinch a playoff berth, an actual child birth is a neat consolation prize.
In case you’re worried about the whole situation, there was a nurse on hand to deliver the child.

We suspect this is the merely the origin story of the next Padres’ superstar. What would be better than this kid growing up, being selected first overall by the Padres in 2032 and leading them to a World Series victory in 2040?
Hopefully, future GM A.J. Preller Jr. doesn’t trade him before that happens.
