Keep Al Golden banner idea by FSU fan meets GoFundMe goal
If you’re a regular reader of Dr. Saturday you’ve seen our posts recently about the fans at Miami who have paid for banners above Hurricanes games in 2015 to ask for the removal of Miami coach Al Golden.
A Florida State fan wanted to respond to the Miami movement. So he started a GoFundMe page to fly a banner requesting Miami keep Al Golden. The banner would be flown over Doak Campbell Stadium on October 10 when Miami visits Florida State.

His GoFundMe goal was $500. And he’s now well over the goal thanks to a $500 donation.
A donation came in late last night in the name of Laurence Leavy. You may recognize the name. He’s “Marlins Man;” the lawyer who shows up at sporting events in Miami Marlins garb. He was a fixture at the 2014 World Series.

We aren’t certain the donation is actually from Leavy himself, but if it is, it’s certainly another note in his sports history. Golden is 31-22 as Miami’s coach, though he’s .500 in ACC play.
We’ll see if the banner actually takes flight above the game. And hopefully this is one of the last moves in the great Florida banner war of 2015. This can’t keep continuing, can it?
