A month or so ago this line would seem silly but the way the Royals have been fading and their starter Jeremy Guthrie is really struggling. Guthrie has just one Q start in his last six and against the mariners the numbers are even worse. He has managed one of those in one of his last eight outings against Seattle and has allowed a very unimpressive 30 runs in his last five starts against them. Seattle starter Hisashi Iwakuma has been pitching well with seven Q starts in his last eight games. He did get lit up for five runs in five innings in his latest against the Royals at Kauffman, but that was last season and he does have two stellar starts against them at home pitching 16 scoreless innings. We’ll back the road team and lay the small number.
