iPro launches fantasy sports play-by-play predictions with Ringit! – VentureBeat
If you ever felt like you were brilliant at predicting what would happen next in a sports game, this app is for you. iPro is introducing the Ringit! mobile game today that allows fans to make play-by-play predictions on sports events with dynamic odds.
The Ringit! mobile game is the first app from Seattle-based iPro, which was started by former online casino slot machine executive Robert Melendres. The title is targeted at the more than 51.6 million people in the U.S. who play fantasy sports games (Fantasy Sports Association). Market researcher Ipsos estimates that each player spends an average of $465 on fantasy sports competitions, up from $95 in 2012.
iPro is one of many companies trying to change the armchair quarterback experience. Players will be able to pick the outcome on mobile devices for every play in a football game, according to iPro. Players can compete in real-time by predicting the next play, drive, or result when watching live NFL Football games.

Will the next play end in a first down, touchdown or turnover? With Ringit!, mobile players will be able to make bets live.
“Real-time, play-by-play predictions with dynamic odds have never been achieved before, but I’m just as excited about the flexibility of this platform,” said Melendres, founder and CEO of iPro, in a statement. “Our platform is designed to offer social, fantasy, and sports betting gameplay within a single app and with the ability to switch modes automatically based on the user’s location and the laws of that jurisdiction. This is a monumental accomplishment, and the platform has been awarded a United States patent on this real time interactive prediction with several more pending that protect that achievement.”
Players will be able to invite and make picks against their friends for fun using virtual chips or play against the field for cash prizes (in most territories). iPro lets players pick more than 15,000 different options in every NFL game.
“We’re changing the way people watch and enjoy football. With Ringit!, fans are no longer passive viewers,” said David Ortiz, iPro’s chief product officer, in a statement. “It brings a rapid-fire intensity to the game that you just don’t get from other fantasy sports, and as a result, makes watching the game a competition itself. Whether making simple pass or run predictions, or going deep choosing from thousands of picks with odds that change dynamically as the game happens, Ringit! brings a never-seen-before level of engagement for casual and hardcore fans alike.”
Melendres was previously executive vice president and chief legal officer at IGT, the world’s largest slot machine maker. He ran the digital business. Ortiz previously was a senior producer and project lead at EA Sports Madden NFL studio. The company was founded in 2014 and it is privately funded. It has 40 employees.
There are plenty of fantasy and casual sports betting products, but iPro contends that none offer as engaging a platform or intense an experience for sports prediction play. Fanarama is doing predictions for baseball games, but iPro says no one is doing exactly what it is doing with dynamic odds.
