Ole Miss scores TD off play with bobbled snap and tipped pass (GIF)
Sometimes there are plays that you can’t adequately describe. Ole Miss’ third touchdown against Alabama on Saturday night may be one of those plays.
The snap to quarterback Chad Kelly was high. He tipped it into the air and corraled it as a rusher was closing in. Kelly then flung the ball towards wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, who was surrounded by defenders.
The ball was tipped again and floated through the air. Again. Quincy Adeboyejo was behind Treadwell and the Alabama defenders and caught the ball as it fell to the ground. And then, in the most anti-climactic part of the play, he sprinted for a touchdown. Watch.
The touchdown pass officially went 66 yards and gave Ole Miss a 24-10 lead.
The Rebels’ first 17 points of the game came off Alabama turnovers including two fumbled kickoffs. Alabama started quarterback Cooper Bateman but he was replaced by Jacob Coker – Alabama’s starter for the first two games of the season – after he threw an interception.
