Kris Bryant goes undercover as a Lyft driver in Chicago and nobody notices
Kris Bryant is one of the best rookies in MLB this season, helping the Chicago Cubs back to the playoffs and lining himself up to probably be named Rookie of the Year. But as the video above proves, if you put some sunglasses on him and put him behind the wheel, he’s apparently just another bro driving for Lyft.

Bryant did a brief stint as a driver recently for the “Undercover Lyft” series and didn’t even get recognized. He dropped some hints, even drove past Wrigley Field, but each time, he had to do a grand reveal to his passengers. One guy even thought he recognized Bryant … but just as a Lyft driver he’d met before. Whammy.
Before anybody starts burying Chicagoans or Cubs fans too much, remember that Matt Harvey and Jimmy Fallon did a similar bit with New Yorkers a couple years ago.
One of the best moment in the Bryant video is when he asks a passenger if baseball players are athletes.
Passenger: “I feel like they’re kinda like chess players.”
Bryant: “Yeah, chess players. They kind of just stand there.”
[On this week’s StewPod: Pirates’ star Andrew McCutchen: “I’m looking to get a ring.”]
The guy near the end who plays volleyball steps in it pretty hilariously:
Bryant: “I play baseball … I’m pretty good.”
Passenger: “Why aren’t you in the pros then? Not to make you feel bad about it.”
Bryant: “I’m actually the third baseman for the Chicago Cubs.”
If Bryant had a mic, he would have dropped it right there. But that’s not a responsible thing to do while operating a vehicle, now is it?
Too bad every Cubs fan who calls on Lyft is going to be disappointed when the car arrives and Kris Bryant isn’t behind the wheel. It could be worse, though. You could be stuck in an Uber with Jay Leno as your driver.
