Tony Romo considers a touchdown-saving tackle, thinks better of it
The Cowboys were … well, “rolling” isn’t quite the right word, but persisting in the first half against the Giants on Sunday night. Dallas had a 6-3 lead in the match of dueling field goals until late in the half, when the Cowboys’ Cole Beasley decided to get a little tricky and go for more yardage. He was stripped of the ball, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie recovered, and that led us to this moment:
TONY DON’T DO IT DON’T DO IT … whew. Yep, Tony Romo made the right decision, letting Rodgers-Cromartie scoot on into the end zone with zero resistance. If the Cowboys are going to do anything, now or in the future, Romo will have to be Good Romo, not Dumb Romo. Wise choice.
Or, put another way:
(Thank you, Internet.) Cowboys fans, try not to look at how Romo’s knees bent there and project too many what-ifs. That way lies madness.
