Cespedes again: No. 35 reaches second deck
Yoenis Cespedes did it again. (USATSI)
Mets outfielder and trade deadline pick-up Yoenis Cespedes continues to ritually abuse pitched baseballs. He did it again on Monday night against the Marlins (GameTracker) …
A well-struck clout, that one. Early estimates peg it at 442 feet. Either way, it was Cespedes’ 35th homer of the season. As for how those break down, Cespedes in 2015 hit 18 of those 35 homers in 403 at-bats with the Tigers, and now he’s hit 17 in 172 at-bats with the Mets. Entering Monday night’s action, Cespedes was batting .308/.353/.680 since being acquired by the Mets.
He’s been good, that is to say.
