South Carolina QB Connor Mitch suffers separated shoulder, out for year
South Carolina quarterback Connor Mitch is out for the season after suffering a separated shoulder in the 26-22 loss to Kentucky.
The injury occurred in the first half with the Gamecocks facing a third-and-4 at the Kentucky 17. Mitch was sacked at the 24 and fumbled the ball. South Carolina recovered the fumble, but Mitch landed hard on his right shoulder.
He immediately went to the locker room and did not return.
Freshman Lorenzo Nunez took over, but junior Perry Orth finished the game completing 21 of 29 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Mitch completed 4 of 7 passes for 43 yards and rushed four times for seven yards and a score before he was injured.
