Mike Moustakas has a good week in one day with nine RBI in Royals’ win
There has been plenty of offensive fireworks in the current series in Baltimore between the Orioles and Kansas City.
One day after the Orioles rallied to beat the Royals with a 10-run inning that included two grand slams, the Royals earned a measure of revenge Saturday beating Baltimore 14-6 behind a team record nine RBIs from Mike Moustakas.
One player driving in nine runs doesn’t happen often, but it happens to be the second time it has happened in the major leagues in the past two weeks. Edwin Encarnacion had a home run hat trick and had nine RBI on Aug. 29.

It seemed like a fairly routine day for Moustakas based on his first two trips to the plate. He struck out in the second inning and popped out in the fifth. But he came to the plate with the bases loaded in the sixth inning and drove in a pair of runs with a single to center.
he found himself in the same situation an inning later and belted a grand slam to right field off T.J. McFarland.

Moustakas made his fifth trip to the batter’s box in the ninth inning with two men on base. He drove in his seventh, eighth and ninth runs of the day when he clubbed his second home run to right field. Moustakas now has 71 RBIs this season and 13 percent of them came in Saturday’s game. he also has 18 home runs.
