Jay Cutler lends voice to Chicago transportation ad, Bears fans react accordingly
Jay Cutler became the NFL’s highest-paid player when the Chicago Bears gave him a seven-year, $126.7 million contract in September 2014, and let’s just say he didn’t live up to expectations last season.
Things got so bad during last year’s 5-11 campaign that shortlived Bears head coach Marc Trestman benched his starting quarterback in favor of Jimmy Clausen for the final game of the season, and somehow Cutler still managed to lead the league in both interceptions (18) and turnovers (24). Not good.

With John Fox taking over coaching duties, 2015 is supposed to be a fresh start for the 32-year-old. The Chicago Transit Authority even made Cutler the voice of a new campaign promoting public transportation to Soldier Field. In hindsight, maybe that wasn’t the best marketing decision for the CTA, because Bears fans haven’t gotten over last season, at least not if there hot Twitter takes from the bus are an indication.
Good times, Chicago. Good times.
Considering Cutler owns a career 1-10 record against Sunday’s opponent, the rival Green Bay Packers, this might not be such a laughing matter when the QB’s voice comes over the loudspeaker on Monday.
