Madison Bumgarner immortalized in country song ‘Outlaw Southpaw’
If there were any player in baseball with a story begging to be told in a country song, it’s Madison Bumgarner.
Remember this video of him chopping down a tree? Or when he dressed up like Paul Bunyan? How about his insane beer-chugging abilities? We haven’t even mentioned any of his on-field exploits yet, like completely dominating the 2014 postseason and leading the San Francisco Giants to another World Series title.

Thanks to Tim Hall and Buffalo Country, we’ve now got an appropriate soundtrack to celebrate Bumgarner’s accomplishments: “Outlaw Southpaw.”
According to CBS Sports, Hall says he grew up in North Carolina with Madison’s dad and coached the Giants ace back in his Little League days, so it sounds like he’s definitely qualified to croon about Bumgarner’s heroics on the diamond.
A country aficionado will be happy to hear that “Outlaw Southpaw,” includes a nod the Marshall Tucker Band’s “Fire on the Mountain,” a song Bumgarner has used as his intro music when he takes the mound.

So click on the video above and have a listen. We think you’ll enjoy it, or at the very least appreciate it. We have to say, the lyrics are pretty catchy.
With Bumgarner off the board, who else in MLB should have a song written in their honor? Early votes go to Josh Donaldson and Yoenis Cespedes.
