(7:59 pm ET) Pirates standout starter A.J. Burnett will be activated off the disabled list for a Thursday start against Milwaukee, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Burnett has been sidelined for more than five weeks with a flexor strain in his throwing elbow.
The right-hander, who threw a simulated game Friday and breezed through a Sunday bullpen session with no problem, will return with an 8-5 record and 3.06 ERA.
Phillies promote SP David Buchanan from Triple-A

(7:51 pm ET) The Phillies have recalled right-hander David Buchanan, who could serve as their sixth starter, per the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Buchanan has not exactly set the world on fire in that role, though his ERA is certainly easy to calculate. He is 2-7 with a 9.00 ERA after allowing 49 runs in 49 innings.
He has been far better at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he has compiled a 2.31 ERA over his last four outings.
Dodgers SS Jimmy Rollins dealing with finger issue

(7:34 pm ET) Rockies slugger Nolan Arenado has been taken out of the Monday game against the host Padres with a chest contusion, per the San Diego Union-Tribune, which is awaiting the results of x-rays.
Arenado was removed in the eighth inning, which allowed him to remain in long enough to slam an RBI double and score a run.
Giants to start Tim Hudson over Ryan Vogelsong on Tuesday

The 31-year-old Ashley earned his first trip to the majors with a fine season in which he has compiled a slash line of .306/.374/.432 with eight home runs and 61 RBI.
Sardinas managed 15 hits in 68 at-bats for Milwaukee in a late spring stint.
Dodgers C Yasmani Grandal dealing with sore shoulder

He was replaced in the lineup by A.J. Ellis, who is hitting seventh. Grandal is considered day to day.

(7:08 pm ET) The Yankees have confirmed that elbow inflammation will sideline slumping right-hander Nathan Eovaldi for two weeks.
Eovaldi has not been a victim of such bad luck all year. He owns a 14-3 record despite a mediocre 4.20 ERA. He ranks second in the American League with an average of 7.18 runs received per game. Eovaldi is even 1-1 over his last two starts despite yielding eight runs in 10 1/3 innings.
Barring a setback, the Yankees should get him back for the last two weeks of the regular season and a very llikely playoff run.
Red Sox set to bring up SP Rich Hill, RP Jonathan Aro

(6:59 pm ET) The Red Sox are set to promote veteran left-hander Rich Hill and righty Jonathan Aro from Triple-A Pawtucket on Tuesday, per the Boston Herald.
Hill, who has yet to pitch in the big leagues this season, was released by the Nationals in June. He performed well after signing with Boston, compiling a 2.78 ERA in the minors. He could be used as a starter as part of a six-man rotation down the stretch.
Aro made three regrettable appearances in early summer for the Red Sox, allowing six runs on 12 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Giants SP Matt Cain to throw Triple-A rehab game Monday
