Prep football player dies after being injured on the field
The high school football season is off to a heartbreaking start. On Friday night, a sophomore from Louisiana died after being injured on a punt return.
Tyrell Cameron was a middle linebacker on the Franklin Parish High team. He was wheeled off the field on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital. The school issued a statement on Twitter.
“He was humble,” a former teammate told USA Today. “He was very instinctive and had overwhelming potential. We would tell him how good he was going to be and he never accepted it. He would just flash us a grin and shake his head.”
