Lamela in talks with Inter Milan – father
Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela is in talks with Serie A side Inter Milan, according to the player’s father and agent.
Lamela, 23, has struggled to make an impression at White Hart Lane since his £30 million move to the club from Roma in 2013.
The Argentina international has scored two Premier League goals for Spurs in 45 appearances for the club.
Lamela’s father, Jose, claims there is interest from Inter in his son, and indicated he is open to a transfer before the Sept. 1 deadline.
“I can confirm that we are in talks with the Nerazzurri,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Their interest in Erik is real. We are waiting for updates over these next few days. There is a willingness on our part to begin talks with the club.
“Italian football is likely more suited to him and his characteristics. He settled well in Italy and had two great seasons with Roma. It would be a welcome option for us.
“He would like to return to Serie A. We will see what happens in these final days of the transfer window.”
