Michael Vick to Steelers? Veteran QB taking a visit to Pittsburgh
Michael Vick spent the summer out of work, seemingly at the end of his NFL rope, but a pretty interesting opportunity might be available to him.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, with one of the top few offenses in the NFL, are bringing in Vick for a visit, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. Steelers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski has a dislocated left ring finger and will have surgery, Schefter said. The Steelers could be in the market for a new backup.

Vick would be an interesting choice. He hasn’t had a great season since 2010 and turned 35 years old in May. He has 42 touchdowns rushing and passing the past four seasons, and 42 turnovers. The Vick that electrified the NFL early in his career left the stage long ago. But he would still be a solid backup, which the New York Jets signed him to be last year. Vick appeared in 10 games last year, started three, and had 604 yards passing.
Vick would have a better chance of success in Pittsburgh, if he signs and ever gets in a game behind Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers have much better offensive weapons than the Jets, or probably any team Vick has played on in his 12 NFL seasons.
Vick has been one of the most controversial and intriguing figures in the NFL since he entered in 2001. Perhaps his career isn’t quite over yet.
