Echols-Luper was the Horned Frogs’ main punt returner in 2014. He had 33 punt returns, including one for a touchdown against Kansas. He also had nine catches for 72 yards. Echols-Luper will reportedly be transferring to Arkansas State and switching to quarterback.

He had been playing cornerback this season for TCU as the Horned Frogs moved him to defense tomaximize his contributions. He played quarterback in high school at Auburn, Alabama, and his bio on the TCU site says he threw for over 1,000 yards and had 11 passing touchdowns while rushing for nearly 900 yards as a senior.
A transfer to Arkansas State could be because of a relationship with former Auburn assistant Trooper Taylor, who is now at ASU. Taylor played at Auburn with Echols-Luper’s father.
Trooper Taylor is CB coach there. He and Luper’s dad were at #Auburn together. https://t.co/oUK0hOsL3l

Echols-Luper was a three-star recruit in the class of 2013 according to Rivals and the No. 30 athlete in the country.
