The poor Titans had a really rough year going 2-14 straight up last season. They did just as poorly against the spread posting a record of 3-12-1 for their backers. Their home and away ATS records were just as dismal. They did manage a 6-10 O/U record so managed to line their UNDER bettors with a little loot. All in all the Titans were definitely not the place to lay down any bets on last year which their backers figured out early.
Tennessee only managed to pull off 2 wins last season in part to their offense which was ranked 29th in the league with an average of 303.7 yards per game. Although their pass yards per game were ranked 20th with 233.6 their rushing yards were less than spectacular averaging a mere 90 yards per game putting them at 26th in league in rushing. They ranked 30th overall for scoring with just over 2 touchdowns per game for a total of 15.9 points per game.
Defensively Tennessee they fared a little better ranked 27th in the league allowing their opponents an average of 373 yards per game. The Titans pass defence was decent ranking 14th overall in the league holding their opponents to less than 250 yards per game. Their run defense was atrocious at 31st overall allowing 137.2 yards per game. Tennessee finished 29th in the league overall in scoring allowed giving up an average of 27.4 points per game.
The Falcon’s didn’t exactly have a great year either last season, ending with a 6-10 straight up record with an extensive injury list the cause. Backing them either at home or away against the spread wasn’t a successful betting prospect as they went 7-9 and 4-4 respectively. Getting some money down on the UNDER for the Falcon’s offered a little bonus as they ended the season 6-10 versus the total line.
Although the Falcons faltered this year they were ranked 8th overall offensively with 378.2 yards per game. Under the leadership of Matt Ryan their passing offence was an impressive 5th in the league with 297.4 passing yards per game. Atlanta’s running game was a different story putting them 24th in the league with an average of 93.6 yards per game. The Falcon’s had no problem scoring with an average of 24 points per game landing them in 12th place in league.
Atlanta’s defense was the absolute worst in the league ranking 32 overall and allowing opponents an average of 398.3 yards per game. Their pass offence was atrocious at 32nd in the league allowing 288.6 passing yards per game. Their rush defence was a little better at 21st place allowing their opponents 118 yards per game. With this less than spectacular defense the Falcon’s gave up an average of 26 points per game logging them in at 27th in the league.

We like the lineup of QBs that we expect the Titans to use in this game and with battles at RB we should see a top effort from all their ball carriers. We would think that Atlanta would like to get some wins to build some confidence before the regular season gets underway, but that’s usually the last thing on HC Mike Smith’s mind with a 9-19 record in these games. With the point spread line under a field goal we’ll take a shot on the money line and back the visitors in this spot.
