The Packers finished the 2014 season 12-4 straight up and 9-6-1 against the spread. They were a bankroll padding 6-1-1 ATS at home and a not so profitable 3-5 against the betting line on the road. If you took the OVER in all of the Packers regular season games you would have had a successful betting season on that alone with the Cheese Heads going over the total in 11 of the 16 regular season games.
Green Bay had the 6th ranked offense in the NFL last season. Their passing offense was 9th in the league with an average of 277.9 yards per game. The running offense was 11th in the league with a total of 119.8 yards per game. The Packers were 1st in the league in offensive scoring with an average of 30.4 points per game.
On the defensive side of the ball the Packs were a little less impressive ranking 15th overall in the league. They allowed 346.4 yards per game to their opponents. They gave up 242.8 passing yards and 119.9 running yards per game making them 23rd in the league in run defence. Green Bay gave up an average of21.8 points per game.
The Patriots also finished the regular season with a 12-4 record enroute to the AFC Title and a Super Bowl win. Against the spread New England wasn’t a money making machine but finished with a respectable 9-7 ATS record. At home they were a little more profitable going 5-3 while away from home they were a juice losing 4-4. The Pats trended to the over with a 9-7 record versus the O/U line.
The Super Bowl champs were 11th in the league in offense last year, gaining an average of 365.5 yards per game. In passing offense they were 11th in league with an average of 268.2 yards per game and a running offense that produced on average 107.9 yards per game making them 18th in league with the run. All that said Tom Brady lead the Pats to a 4th place ranking in the league for scoring with an average of 29.3 points per game.
New England had a decent defense which was ranked 13th in the league overall. They allowed their opponents an average of 344.1 yards per game. Their passing defense was a little weaker as they allowed on average 257.4 passing yards while their run defense held their opponents to 104.3 rushing yards per game. All that said the Pats managed to hold their opponents to an average of 19.6 points per game putting them 8th in the league for points allowed.

We like the UNDER in this game. These two teams could meet in Super Bowl 50 so don’t expect the most vanilla of offenses for both teams. Plus the Patriots need to figure out their running back situation, so its should be ground and pound.
