The Cincinnati Reds decided to take step up the patriotism surrounding the game recently. Baseball may be as American as apple pie, but you know what’s even more American?
How about breaking a weird world record while wearing an American flag cape following a baseball game?
Yes, this is a thing that happened. The record-breaking attempt actually happened July 31, but the video wasn’t released until Wednesday. When you’re dealing with throwing a washing machine, it’s crucial to provide video. And while we don’t totally understand what throwing a washing machine has to do with baseball, we’ll support pretty much any attempt at breaking a world record.
That’s strongman Sean McCarthy, by the way. He didn’t just break the world record for throwing a washing machine, he obliterated it. McCarthy’s toss went 15-feet-nine inches. The previous record had been 13-feet-6.6 inches.
