Packers’ Andrew Quarless reveals his newborn daughter died at birth
Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless told the media on Monday that his baby daughter died at birth last week, ESPN Milwaukee’s Jason Wilde tweeted.
Quarless had missed the start of training camp and head coach Mike McCarthy said on the first day of camp that the tight end was “dealing with a very difficult, extremely difficult family situation” and wasn’t sure when he’d rejoin the team.
Quarless got in trouble this offseason with an arrest in Miami on gun charges, firing a weapon outside a parking garage, and even though the Packers stuck with him, Quarless has yet to hear from the NFL on a possible suspension related to the matter.
But right now, his thoughts have to be on family. He’s back at practice — amazingly — but you certainly could understand if Quarless would need more time away in such a time of tragedy.
