– Jose Bautista is 8-for-26 with three doubles and two homers in his career against Ervin Santana.
– Anthony Rizzo (.978 OPS vs. LHP this year), Dexter Fowler (.810) and Kris Bryant (.807) all have a little more value today against lefty Francisco Liriano. Teammates Starlin Castro (.581), who’s just 3-for-22 lifetime against Liriano, Addison Russell (.473), and Kyle Schwarber (.411) are fairly risky plays.
– Doug Fister has been getting ripped by righties all year (.358/.394/.531), making Paul Goldschmidt, A.J. Pollock (knee), and Yasmany Tomas a little more valuable than you might originally think.
– Aaron Hicks (1.071 OPS) and Brian Dozier (.905) are both killing lefties this year, so don’t be scared of them in Toronto against David Price. Teammate Joe Mauer is just 6-for-34 lifetime against Price.
– Lance McCullers has been devastating against lefties this season (.191/.265/.272), and the Rangers feature a lefty-heavy lineup. Don’t overpay for the likes of Prince Fielder, Rougned Odor, Josh Hamilton, Mitch Moreland, and Shin-Soo Choo.
– Justin Bour, Dee Gordon, Christian Yelich, and Derek Dietrich have a little more value today against Bartolo Colon, who’s struggled against lefties all year (.310/.331/.473).
– Eddie Butler has been absolutely rocked by lefties this season (.323/.442/.550), and with the game against the Mariners in Colorado, you can bet DFS owners will be stacking Robinson Cano, Kyle Seager, Seth Smith, Brad Miller, and possibly even Ketal Marte.
– The Pirates feature a bunch of lefty killers, including Francisco Cervelli (1.008 OPS), Starling Marte (.927), Jung-Ho Kang (.881), Andrew McCutchen (.830), and Josh Harrison (.803). All are solid options against Jon Lester, but don’t expect much, if anything, from Pedro Alvarez or Gregory Polanco.
– Mike Foltynewicz has been knocked around by everyone this year, but lefties have really gotten the better of him (.331/.379/.541). Fire up Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Angel Pagan, and possibly even Joe Panik.
– Logan Forsythe (.937 OPS vs. LHP this year), Evan Longoria (.911), and Tim Beckham (.830) all get bumps in value against White Sox southpaw Jose Quintana.
