Nearly two months after Russell Wilson‘s 2014 NFL season came to an end, the Seahawks quarterback will suit up for the Texas Rangers at spring training in Surprise, Arizona.
Wilson, a middle infielder, was selected by Texas in the 2013 Rule 5 draft. Before that, he was taken in the fourth round of the 2010 draft by the Colorado Rockies. He spent parts of two seasons in their system where he it .229 with 15 stolen bases in 61 games.
He also joined the Rangers in spring training last year, where he took part in drills and watched an exhibition game.
And while he’s not expected to play on Saturday for the Rangers, don’t be surprised if his Rangers jersey remains wildly popular.
