Sean Doolittle teaches A’s coaches about social media in latest team ad
To the inexperienced, new forms of social media can be overwhelming. Learning how to tweet, create a hashtag and put a filter on your latest selfie can lead to frustration.
Oakland Athletics closer Sean Doolittle is a master of social media, and one of the few really entertaining baseball players on Twitter. In one of the team’s latest commercials, he attempts to impart his social media prowess on his coaches.
Have you ever tried to teach your grandma how to tweet? This commercial is the epitome of that conversation.

While all the coaches deserve recognition for their acting ability, the real MVP here is pitching coach Curt Young, who unleashes a fantastic sentence that includes every social media buzzword. Give that man an Oscar!
The Athletics are really pushing social media this season. The club will release its own set of emojis, and give away “A-moji” shirts in late April. Despite his lack of success in this video, Doolittle seems like the right candidate to lead that project.
