(10:59 am ET) Mets first baseman Lucas Duda (oblique) will take the field for the first time this spring Sunday against the Rays.
Duda went 1 for 4 as the designated hitter in his return to the lineup Saturday but will play first base Sunday and bat third. He’s been behind this spring due to a strained oblique muscle.
Orioles’ Matt Wieters to catch second straight day

(10:30 am ET) Matt Wieters will play catcher in the Orioles’ B game on Sunday, marking the first time he’s caught on consecutive days since his Tommy John surgery.
Like Saturday’s game, there will be no basestealing in Sunday’s contest, according to a report by beat writer Brittany Ghiroli.
Wieters caught six innings on Saturday. If he comes through Sunday without any setbacks, he will return to the Orioles A-lineup for Tuesday’s game.
Rusney Castillo hitting soft toss for Red Sox

(10:20 am ET) Red Sox outfielder Rusney Castillo continues his recovery from an oblique injury that has kept him out nearly two weeks.
Castillo took high intensity swings during soft toss batting practice on Sunday, taking another step toward returning to games, according to a report from the Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham.
Rays’ Jake McGee (elbow) scheduled for first bullpen Tuesday

(9:47 am ET) Rays pitcher Jake McGee is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session Tuesday as he continues to recover from elbow surgery, the Tampa Tribune reports.
McGee will likely open the season on the disabled list but is targeting a return in April. He racked up 19 saves last season while going 5-2 with a 1.89 ERA and 90:16 K:BB ratio in 71 1/3 innings.
Rays’ Brandon Guyer has return put on hold

(9:44 am ET) Rays outfielder Brandon Guyer will not return to the lineup Tuesday as previously scheduled, instead taking batting practice at the team’s facility in Port Charlotte, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Guyer is dealing wtih a strain of his oblique or lat. The issue has limited him to one spring appearance.
Rays’ Cash: Drew Smyly (shoulder) likely to miss start of season

(9:40 am ET) Rays manager Kevin Cash acknowledged Sunday that pitcher Drew Smyly (shoulder) is unlikely to be ready for the start of the season even if his rehab goes well, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Smyly is dealing with left shoulder tendinitis, and it was reported Monday that the team was planning a contingency in case he missed the beginning of the regular season. He played catch on Sunday, throwing 30 times from a distance of 60-to-70 feet, as he continued the progression of his rehab.
Diamondbacks’ David Hernandez targeting early May return

(9:34 am ET) Diamondbacks pitcher David Hernandez (elbow) is scheduled to throw off a mound within the next 10 days and is targeting a return in early May, the Arizona Republic reports.
“When I come back, I want to be ready,” Hernandez said. “I want to be counted on to go one, two, three days in a row. It’s just not fair to the other guys in the bullpen when they need a day and you haven’t really thrown all that much. When and if I come back, I want to be counted on as a guy who can be in there in any game, in any situation.”
Hernandez missed the 2014 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Nationals option Taylor Hill to Triple-A, re-assign three

(9:25 am ET) The Nationals have optioned pitcher Taylor Hill to Triple-A Syracuse, the Washington Post reports. Hill made three appearances this spring, allowing two earned runs on five hits in four innings while striking out five, walking none and hitting two batters.
The team has also re-assigned pitchers Eric Fornataro, Mitch Lively and Scott McGregor to minor-league camp.
Mets’ Josh Edgin to undergo Tommy John surgery

(9:21 am ET) Mets pitcher Josh Edgin is set to undergo Tommy John surgery, The Star-Ledger reports.
Edgin said Saturday he had yet to make a decision on whether to have the surgery and that he was seeking a second opinion on his overstretched ligament. The rehab will sideline Edgin for the entire 2015 season, leaving the Mets to find a new primary left-hander for the bullpen.
Marlins option Jose Urena, Kendry Flores

(9:11 am ET) The Marlins have optioned pitcher Jose Urena to Triple-A New Orleans and pitcher Kendry Flores to Double-A Jacksonville, the team announced Sunday.
Urena allowed three hits and one walk in two scoreless innings this spring while striking out three. Flores didn’t see action in a Grapefruit League game.
The Marlins also re-assigned outfielders Austin Wates and Kenny Wilson, second baseman Avery Romero and pitchers Nick Wittgren and Trevor Williams to minor-league camp. The moves leave the team’s spring roster at 53 players.
