Purdue player crashes press row in spectacular fashion
CHICAGO — Who said basketball — and sportswriting — isn’t a contact sport?

Purdue junior Rapheal Davis and Indianapolis Star columnist Gregg Doyel proved both wrong on Friday afternoon after Davis dived for a ball at the Big Ten tournament and ended up plowing through a courtside press table. Both Doyel and a radio broadcasting crew took the brunt of Davis’ 6-foot-5 frame in one of the more spectacular crowd-player interactions you’ll ever see.
The best news: Neither Davis, nor Doyel, nor anyone else were hurt so we can watch this one again and again with a clear conscience. Anyone know if the Boilermaker football team needs an extra body next fall?
