Royals minor-league affiliate introduces Krispy Kreme Donut Dog
The Wilmington BlueRocks have created a hot dog that would make Guy Fieri blush. The Kansas City Royals Advanced-A affiliate announced they would be selling the Krispy Kreme Donut Dog this season.
Behold the dog in all its glory:
Do you go to the ballpark demanding bold flavors? This dog has them. Let’s kick things off with a Krispy Kreme donut bun. The hot dog goes inside that beautiful bun, and is topped with bacon and raspberry jelly, giving you the perfect combination of salty and sweet.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. A masterful creation such as this requires a much better name than “Krispy Kreme Donut Dog,” and the BlueRocks are willing to oblige. The team is holding a contest where fans can submit a name for their new delicious treat. The winner of the contest will receive a chance to win a ticket to opening night, and a chance to throw out the first pitch at a BlueRocks game.
The BlueRocks aren’t the first team to create a wacky food item. The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have already introduced the Big Mother Funnel Burger this season.
Unfortunately, it’s a 17 hour drive from Appleton to Wilmington, so any chance of eating both items in one day is probably out of the question. While that might be for the best, we at the Stew would applaud any ambitious reader who tries to make it happen.
Who knows, maybe this could even turn into a series on the Food Network. One man drives from ballpark to ballpark in search of the craziest food items. Actually, forget you read that. I can’t have anyone stealing my next big idea.
