Great Odin’s raven, Will Ferrell has come up with his zaniest scheme yet!
The actor/comedian plans to play all nine positions during Cactus League games Thursday, according to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale. That’s right, games, as in plural. In order to get to the various parks on time, Ferrell will travel by helicopter.
There are eight games on the schedule, so Ferrell will have to double up somewhere, though we don’t know his exact itinerary yet.
This isn’t the first time Ferrell has engaged in a stunt on a baseball field. Ferrell, or rather, Billy Ray “Rojo” Johnson, was ejected from a Round Rock Express game after throwing just one pitch back in 2010.
Ferrell also famously had a pizza delivered to the mound before throwing out the first pitch at a Cubs game in 2012.
Ferrell, of course, is promoting his upcoming movie “Get Hard,” which co-stars Kevin Hart.
The 47-year-old has appeared in multiple sports movies during his career, including “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” “Kicking & Screaming” and “Semi-Pro.” While he hasn’t appeared in a baseball film just yet, perhaps this experience will nudge him toward his next starring role. “Rojo” Johnson seems like a deep man with a complicated backstory.
