Pablo Sandoval rips Giants, says he was never going to re-sign in S.F.
If Pablo Sandoval hadn’t already made himself an enemy to all the fans who used to wear Panda hats and cheer for him in San Francisco, he probably has now.
Sandoval ripped the Giants in a new interview with Bleacher Report’s Scott Miller, saying the team disrespected him and that he was never going to re-sign with the Giants, even for more money.
Sandoval agreed to a five-year, $95 million deal to join the Boston Red Sox in November, one of the first major moves of the MLB offseason.
At the time, Sandoval was a bit more diplomatic in his comments about the Giants, saying he wanted “a new challenge.”

But Pablo unleashed a bit more in his interview with Miller, saying it “wasn’t hard at all” to leave the Giants and he knew even before the 2014 season began that he was going to walk:
“I knew early in spring training last year I was going to leave,” Sandoval said. “They didn’t respect my agent. Contract talks, everything. The way Brian Sabean (Giants general manager) talked to my agent” …
“The Giants made a good offer, but I didn’t want to take it,” he said. “I got five years (and $95 million) from Boston. I left money on the table in San Francisco. It is not about money. It is about how you treat the player.”
We’ve heard grumblings of this same tune before. Sandoval’s brother Michael, who is also one of his agents, said something at the start of free agency about finding a team that can “really appreciate” Pablo. But hearing it now from Pablo himself escalates the beef a new notches.

So will the following quote. Sandoval was asked whom he’d miss from the Giants and here’s what he said:
“Only Bochy,” Sandoval said of Giants manager Bruce Bochy. “I love Boch. He’s like my dad. He’s the only guy that I miss. And Hunter Pence. Just those guys.”
Ouch, says the rest of the Giants clubhouse. Because you might be wondering: No, the Giants and the Red Sox don’t play each other during the 2015 regular season.
