Vic Tafur’s NFL picks against spread, Feb. 1 – SFGate
Middle linebacker Bobby Wagner of the Seattle Seahawks speaks…
Vic’s picks
Well, here we are. Vic’s picks are down to Vic’s pick. I know one thing for sure: the footballs are going to be inflated so full that they will start floating up in the air before every snap. And kudos to Marshawn Lynch, who did the league a big favor by not answering questions and took the air out of the deflated balls scandal. (I bet he doesn’t get fined for wearing his Beast Mode cap to the news conferences. Gotta love free product placement.)
The game itself seems pretty easy to me, with the Patriots a one-point favorite. The Seahawks have won every time and allowed just 78 points in the eight games since linebacker Bobby Wagner came back in Week 12. Quarterback Russell Wilson threw four interceptions in the NFC Championship Game and Seattle still won. The Patriots’ only chance is if tight end Rob Gronkowski goes Gronk Mode (and that’s definitely possible), but I think safety Kam Chancellor and the Seahawks’ secondary is too good for that. SEAHAWKS
Record: 134-128-2 against the spread (6-4 in playoffs). Our worst year in three of doing this, but finishing above water is always a good thing.
