Despite being permanently banned from baseball, local legend Pete Rose will be in Cincinnati for the All-Star Game this coming summer. Reds majority owner Bob Castellini said as much Thursday.
Answering a fan question at Q&A, Castellini said “You’ll definitely see Pete Rose at the All-Star Game this year.”#reds

Rose has done MLB-related events for years — notably the Reds Hall of Fame ceremonies several times and the MLB All-Century team a while back — but is still banned from being employed in any capacity relating to Major League Baseball for betting on baseball back in the 1980s. He also continues to be held out of the Hall of Fame.
Rose’s on-field reputation is still as great as any living player, though, as he continues to hold the record for the most career hits. He’s also still wildly popular in Cincinnati and, considering the All-Star Game is for the fans, it seems fitting to let the hometown fans have as much excitement as possible during the festivities.
