If your password is ‘baseball,’ you should probably change it
This doesn’t have much to do with Major League Baseball, but consider it a “The More You Know” PSA from your friends at Big League Stew.
If you’re a baseball fan who thought making “baseball” your go-to password was a great idea, it’s not and you should change it.
SplashData, a company that makes password management applications, released its annual list of the worst passwords of the year. The 2014 list sees “baseball” at No. 8. Football is a couple spots below at No. 10. C’mon, sports fans.
Here’s the full list of bad passwords, as seen on Yahoo Tech:
1. 123456
2. password
3. 12345
4. 12345678
5. qwerty
6. 123456789
7. 1234
8. baseball
9. dragon
10. football
11. 1234567
12. monkey
13. letmein
14. abc123
15. 111111

19. master
20. michael
21. superman
22. 696969
23. 123123
24. batman
25. trustno1
Besides “baseball,” there are some gems on the list. We see you, No. 22. And “trustno1” is so rich.
We’re not here to tell fans of Superman or Batman to change their passwords, that’s a job for super hero bloggers. You baseball fans, though, we got your back and don’t want to see you get hacked. So change your passwords.
