Andre Drummond’s last-second tip-in gives Pistons another win
Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings has found new life, boosting his production and efficiency in virtually every conceivable category as part of the team’s post-Josh Smith resurgence. That strong play continued in Friday’s road game against the Indiana Pacers. Jennings entered the final possession of regulation in a 96-96 game with 37 points on 10-of-22 shooting (including 8-of-13 from deep), three assists, two steals, and a +18 plus-minus in 34 minutes of action.

Not surprisingly, Jennings got the ball with the chance to give Detroit the win. He couldn’t finish things off himself, but teammate Andre Drummond was there to clean things up in the final second:
That tip-in served as Drummond’s 10th offensive rebound (of 16 total) and 16th point. Indiana attempted an unlikely play to win, but they couldn’t get off a shot as the Pistons came away with a 98-96 win.
That’s now 10 wins in the last 12 games for the Pistons, who look increasingly like a playoff team despite a 15-25 record. Yet that mark puts them only two games behind the Brooklyn Nets for the East’s final playoff spot. Given Detroit’s current form, it would seem a reasonable bet to slot them into one of those berths.
