Brewers mascot Hank wins Dog of the Year at World Dog Awards
It could be argued that no dog in the world had a better 2014 than Hank, the spring training stray that was adopted by the Milwaukee Brewers and turned into a baseball celebrity. Actually, wait, it can’t be argued.
Hank was crowned Dog of the Year on Thursday night, when the World Dog Awards aired on the CW Network. Yes, all of those are real things. And they prove Hank did, in fact, have the best year of any dog.
And get this: Hank accepted his award (a golden hydrant) from Paris Hilton and then took his picture with Terrell Owens and awards host George Lopez. Yes, that’s really what all those people are doing with their lives.
Here’s visual evidence:
Hank’s life has been one big treat bowl since he found his way into the Brewers’ spring training complex in Arizona almost a year ago. He became the talk of the blogosphere, immediately drawing a legion of fans. Then the Brewers announced they’d be adopting him and taking him back to the Milwaukee.
There, he had a crowd waiting for him at the airport when he arrived. The Brewers built him a doghouse inside Miller Park, then turned him into a bobblehead and a plush toy. He even got to meet Hank Aaron.
Ain’t life grand? If you missed when we posted it earlier in the week, here’s Hank doing his thing on “green carpet.”
He’s such a good boy.
