Brewers mascot Hank wears a tux to the World Dog Awards
You’ve come a long way, Hanky.
Hank, the stray dog adopted by the Milwaukee Brewers during Spring Training last year, reached his apex over the weekend: Going to Hollywood for the World Dog Awards, where he was a nominee for Dog of the Year.
Cuteness alert*: Hank wore a little puppy tuxedo on the event’s “green carpet” and showed off his tricks. See, folks, he’s more than a reformed stray who’s been gifted a sweet life at an MLB park. Hank can walk on two legs if you hold a treat over his head.
We won’t know whether Hank won Dog of the Year until the awards air Thursday night on CW. He’s got some steep competition, including another with a baseball tie.
Bravo impresario Andy Cohen’s dog Wacha, named after Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha, is one for the five nominees. There’s also Duke, who was elected mayor of Cormorant, Minn., Peanut, the World’s Ugliest Dog and Sky, who is known as the “supermodel of dogs.”
*don’t worry, matters of Hank are pretty much the only time we issue a “cuteness alert” around here.
