Alex Rodriguez congratulates Jim Harbaugh after his 49ers finale
Alex Rodriguez’s offseason routine has included showing up at football games around the country — from college contests in Alabama to that time Tony Romo almost ran him over at a Dallas Cowboys game.
A-Rod is a few months from returning to the New York Yankees’ lineup as their DH, but apparently he’s training to be the next Marlins Man too. We just keep seeing him places.
Sunday he was at the final San Francisco 49ers game of the season, where all eyes were on head coach Jim Harbaugh, who would “mutually parting ways” with the Niners by day’s end.
As Harbaugh made his way back to the locker room after San Francisco’s 20-17 win, there was A-Rod.
The Fox cameras caught a brief encounter between A-Rod and Harbaugh, which wasn’t nearly as awkward as it could have been. Harbaugh could have been like, “So, Alex, this is what it’s like to not be wanted, huh?”
They mostly did the, “Oh hey. How are you? Good to see you” thing with a little bit of “See you around, call me when you’re in town” at the end. You get used to faking it when people don’t like you. *ahem* Allegedly don’t like you.
Harbaugh should be fine, as he’s expected to land at Michigan next, where he’ll try to revive his alma mater’s football program. A-Rod will be trying to revive his beleaguered baseball career with the Yankees in 2015 after a year’s suspension. That should be much tougher.
