The Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics play Friday afternoon at the TD Garden.
The Chicago Bulls have lost four of their last six games and continue to battle injuries. Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson are all doubtful for this matchup. On the season, the Bulls are averaging 100.5 points on 45.8 percent shooting and are allowing 99 points on 44.7 percent shooting. Jimmy Butler leads the Bulls with 21.6 points on 50 percent shooting and Pau Gasol is averaging 19.3 points and 10.5 rebounds. Aaron Brooks is averaging 3.1 assists and Mike Dunleavy is shooting 37.8 percent from downtown. Until everybody is healthy, it’s tough to know exactly how good the Chicago Bulls actually are. The Bulls are a more balanced team than they’ve been in years but the injuries are an absolute killer. This will be the sixth straight road game for the Chicago Bulls.
USA TODAY Sports
The Boston Celtics have lost five of their last six games as their defense isn’t helping them out at all. On the season, the Celtics are averaging 104.7 points on 47.2 percent shooting and are allowing 107.2 points on 47.6 percent shooting. Jeff Green leads the Celtics with 18.4 points on 43.3 percent shooting and Jared Sullinger is averaging 16 points and 8.4 rebounds. Rajon Rondo is dishing out 10.7 assists and Avery Bradley is shooting 44.7 percent from the field. The Boston Celtics have been a terrific offensive team and are actually first in the league in assists. However, the lack of defense has crushed any hopes of progress, as the Boston Celtics are 2-7 SU this season when allowing 100-plus points.
The Bulls are 13-30-1 ATS in their last 44 games playing on 2 days rest and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Celtics are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. NBA Central and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games. The Bulls are 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Boston and 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings overall.
With all the injuries to the Bulls, I’ll gladly take the home team and the points.
Celtics +3.5
